5.0 out of 5 stars UNDERRATED??WELL I SAY CORKING FILM 10 Sep 2012
By Barry
Format:DVD
I watched this film last night 'Sun 9th Sept. I have a few of these 'ealing war films
and this certainly didn't disappoint ,great acting and story is top notch , one reviewer mentioned 'accents' well I didn't notice ,however 99per cent of films be it classic or average movies ,they all have 'accent' probs, that doesn't ruin a film for me ,so all in all great film ,thanks for reading ,just buy it and enjoy a bit of class cinema .Barry.

2.0 out of 5 stars HMMMMM.... 27 Jun 2012

I bought this because it is Ealing Studios but frankly it is not something that anyone would willingly admit to if they were being honest. For example you expect an army officer to speak with an Oxbridge accent, unless they are Nazi of course! and that is how it is. All the characters speak as if we were in the home counties, which they probably were. Call me picky but I do expect a teeny bit of realism. You have been warned.
