Product Description

CD Description
Canadian pop-punk superstars Sum 41 return with their fifthfull length album, the follow-up to 2004's 'Chuck.' The band's first recording since the departure of guitarist Dave Baksh, 'Underclass Hero' sees production duties lying with lead vocalist Deryck Whibley, and boasts fifteen tracks of the band's trademark mix of rock, punk and rap. The album also marks a departure of sorts, with the band moving in a more mature, politically charged direction whilst honing a tighter, more streamlined overall sound. Includes the single 'Underclass Hero.'

4.0 out of 5 stars best of both sides of sum 41, 19 Sep 2007
underclass hero brings back the things that made sum 41 so popular from all killer no filler,
but without losing the maturity they have progressed to.

the album contains powerful lyrics, and some music that is evidently well put together on first listen.
for those who enjoyed the jokey side of sum 41, but also the more hardcore, more mature side -
this album won't disappoint.

5.0 out of 5 stars They're back!, 23 Jul 2007

(REAL NAME)
OMG!

when i heard that Sum 41 were bringing out a new album after the departure of Brownsound i couldnt help but think,WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
leave on a high! dont try to make a comeback.......how wrong i was.

"underclass hero" opens with a bang with there amazing new single of the same name. When i heard this i realised how it wasnt just brownsound that made the band good. The song brings back a reminder of the old Sum 41 that i fell in love with ("all killer no filler album")

and with brilliant and moving songs such as "walking disaster" and "so long goodbye" this album is a rollercoaster from start to finish and i cant stop listening to it. soon to be a great..........

5.0 out of 5 stars I like it, there's just one thing....., 13 Sep 2007
By BoyMemory (Widnes, England) - See all my reviews
Now, I've rated this album 5star because I thought it was actually a really great album. But alot of reviews seem to be saying SUM41 have returned to their "Punk" days.... Not so true. the opening track is pretty much "In Too Deep" after that the album pretty much takes a very blink182 turn ie. "take off your pants" album.

in no way am i 'dissin' the album, i just think it's been reviewed wrong. it's not punk atall.

although - it's a massive step for SUM41.

3.0 out of 5 stars another average album
this album is average, it has some decent songs with some good melodies but lacks fun. The lyrics whilst some times clever quite often are reduced to cliched fillers. Read more
