Book Description

1 Jun 2011
Disguised as a boy, Marly joins a handsome Texas Ranger in the hunt for a con man and they must bring the fugitive to justice before giving up the masquerade and giving in to their passion.

When Marly Landers is fooled by con man Charlie Meese, she's determined to bring him to justice--even if it means dressing up as a boy and setting off across the plains to find him.

Texas Ranger Jase Strachan is also after Meese, for crimes committed in Texas. He joins forces with the young boy in a journey that takes them to Fortuna, where a murder interrupts their mission. Jase is duty bound to find the killer, no matter the cost.

Marly carries out her own investigation and comes to the aid of Amabelle Egan, the sister of one of the suspects. But appearances are deceiving, and Marly is mistaken for Amabelle’s suitor, making her a target for the killer. Not to mention, Charlie Meese is still out there.

Under the Texas stars, Marly and Jase are drawn together by circumstances beyond their control, yet fate plots to tear them apart. Will Marly finally get her man?

5.0 out of 5 stars Under a Texas Star 31 Jan 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I have just finished this book and although it wasn't what I thought it would be I did enjoy it, the interaction between the two main characters is charming and I can see why the attraction grew, although the hero did not realise that Marly was a girl there was something about his companion that drew him to her. To be honest it was refreshing not to have pages of sexual description and just a growing comeraderie between the two. Loved it

5.0 out of 5 stars An endearing story of betrayal and love 21 Aug 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Ever wanted to flee unjust persecution, lies and betrayal directed at you from those you love? Imagine the struggle to escape where you must deny everything about yourself to be safe in a culture where ladies have few prospects and less respect.
Ever dreamed of Texas Rangers? Spreading law and order with honour, good sense and small lumps of lead? Join Marly on her dusty trails tracking down the man who betrayed her. Will she get her man? Will the Texas Rangers get in her way?
An interesting, evocative story where trail dust rises from the pages and you wonder how Marly will ever unscramble her past to choose a respectable future.

Disguised as a boy, Marly joins a handsome Texas Ranger in the hunt for a con man and they must bring the fugitive to justice before giving up the masquerade and giving in to their passion.

I actually finished this book as it wasn't a bad story. However there was absolutely NO chemistry/sexual tension/attraction between the hero and heroine, so much so that I wondered if I was reading a christian story - but it's not! (I'm not knocking christian stories by the way, because I read a book by Lavyrle Spencer about a woman who used to be a nun, and the sexual tension/chemistry between the h&H was smoking and I enjoyed it). The ending seemed to drag and the lack of romance is noticable.

2.5 stars (soley for the fact that I read to the end).
