4.0 out of 5 stars Very clear and helplfull 22 Mar 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I like the writers and how the cleary explain the more complex topics. However the book is sometimes poorly edited; there are for example pages of intro jammed in the index. In section 2, you also read similar parts as in section 1 although from a slight different angle (my guess is that it is written by the other author there).

Still, considering the first edition, I like the book and it brings clarity where very few people have done before.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read For All .NET Developers 27 Feb 2012
By Mark Downes - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This book is absolutely a must-read for all .NET developers! Too many .NET developers assume that the Garbage Collector will take care of everything and that the developer has no responsibility or concerns about their application's memory usage. This book starts out with easy explanations and examples and builds up to more complex ones so that the concepts can be easily understood.
I'll recommend this book to everyone within my organization - you should consider this too.
5.0 out of 5 stars A .NET 102 book 11 Aug 2013
By Bahri M Gungor - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
After you understand the basic for, while, and class constructs, you should read this book to understand the effects of the coding decisions you make in all of your .NET coding.

This book is easy to read and understand the concepts of memory management in your application. Every small decision you make has consequences, and this book tells you about them.
3.0 out of 5 stars An in-depth look at .NET Memory Management and Garbage Collection 5 Aug 2013
By Aaron White - Published on Amazon.com
This book offers a good overview of how a .NET Developers' code utilizes memory and affects Garbage Collection (GC). It points out differences between The Stack and The Heap (both SOH and LOH) as well as the differences between how an application uses memory in a 32 bit OS as opposed to a 64 bit OS among other things. This book offers a great in-depth look into .NET Memory Management and Garbage Collection.

This is definitely for more advanced developers.
