This book made me laugh, cry and sigh. Rita Herron has managed to blend so many emotions in this story it amazes me. Abby is a great heroine, the sort of woman I can imagine being friends with. Her quirky family made me smile and cringe at the same time. Hunter starts out as quite a challenge, and it was heartwrenching to see the emotional trauma he goes through as he learns what is really important in life. I've read two books by this author and she always puts her heroes through an emotional meatgrinder. Meanie that I am, I love watching the hero squirm. With a cast a wonderful secondary characters, especially Hunter's sweet little daughter Lizzy and the dogs, this is a fast and satisfying read. Highly recommended.
