Book Description

Revised and Re-Edited 8/26/2014

Sher is an everyday woman who owns a deli in Colorado until one day
she finds herself being followed and then attacked by an unknown man.
And if that wasn't bad enough, the responding police officer is the
man she left without an explanation years ago. As they uncover
evidence, the two get closer. But will they both survive long
enough to see if their love for each other will last through time. This book is the story of Sher's trials and how those trials end. Sher's brother, Brad's trials are lived through in The Aspens Fall book.

This is a novella with romance, intrigue and mystery.

2.0 out of 5 stars Gangster mystery or romance? 13 April 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This story seemed to have potential when I first started to read. However, the awful grammar, misuse of tenses, spelling errors and use of the wrong words for example "slim ball" which presumably should have read "slime ball" detracted from the enjoyment of the book. The crime story showed promise but the sex interludes were a step too far for me. Now the question is do I buy Book 2 or not? I think maybe not. If I could advise Ms Sherry I would suggest that, for her future novels, she develop the main theme, miss out the sex episodes and get herself a good proof reader. She should then become a good crime writer.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good story let down by poor writing 16 April 2012

The story line is excellent and the plot shows great promise BUT the grammar and writing style are very poor. The tenses keep flipping! The sentances are short and clipped. My son wrote better English when he was age 15 in high school! Get a good editor and work on the writing as you have the imagination but remember with all creative work the ratio is 1% inspiration to 99% perspiration.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dross 17 Jan. 2013

Pointless drivel shallow waste of time. Heroine! Snivels her way through and is so unbelievable, rescued by her `hero` he should not have wasted his time. Strung together by superfluous smut in an attempt to give some dimension

There needs to be a half star between "I don't like it'' and "it's okay" for this book.

It wasn't the best book ever, but it was exactly what I was expecting when I bought it. It is what it is, a cheesy romance with a touch of mild peril for the leading lady and a chance for the leading man to be tough and protective.

There was not one word that was unexpected and it's never going to be mistaken for a great book, but it was comfortingly predictable and it got me through a stage where I was unable to focus on more intensive or complicated stories, the pallet cleanser between the more complex courses perhaps.

I don't think I will bother with the next book in the series, unless I get stuck in a book slump again and feel the need for something predictable and easy to get me through it. I didn't really care enough about the characters to want to know what happens next. But it was okay and I didn't completely hate it.
