not as good as her earlier work, too complicated to follow easily. MJD tried to uprate the plot but tried too hard?

its BETSY 10 Jun. 2013

it a BESTY book... DAvidson has again created and interesting, yet predictable book. I LOVE Queen Betsy, but have we really run out of situations and interesting things for her to be invovled in?? Starting to kill off all our fave characters doesn't work. And she is started to move away from the things that make Betsy so loveable - her shoes!, her love/hate with Sinclair!, the contact and interaction with the weres, all in all, if you ARE a Betsy fan,, read it, just to keep updated, in case the next one is more interesting, but dont start liking the Queen with THIS boook.
Getting repetitive, too much useless filler, definitely a book that you need to skim through to actually get to the point. 4 Mar. 2015

All the books that precede this are hilarious. I have noticed, as each book came out, that alot of the characters tend to have the same exact personality. Cathy The Ghost, Marc, The customer Besty helps when she worked at Macy's....They all just have the same, sarcastic, type of personality. Also, the word "odious" is used at least once in every book, usually when describing Sinclair. There's just alot of repeat sentences and repeat actions that, I think, Ms. Davidson either forgot she put in the book, or just couldn't come up with something else, so she used the same thing in hopes that we wouldn't notice. I did.

But enough about that stuff. Once I hit this book I tend to just sorta skim. I know Betsy is supposed to be notorious for not staying on track and not paying attention when it comes to conversation, but this book and all that come after are just ridiculous. I can't even get lost in the book and because its basically all just Betsy thinking random things and her brain hopping from one thing to another...I can't even keep up with who's saying what and what's actually going on. Definitely a huge difference between this book and the very first one, Undead and Unwed. I actually find myself having to go back a few pages when Betsy finally, FINALLY tunes back in and answers a question, because with all the nonsense filler she put in, I forgot what was even going on or what was asked. Like when Giselle, her cat, died, It took 3 or 4 pages (in e-book) from the time Jessica announced her being dead and Betsy actually responding.

I'm being generous with 3 stars because I have loved this series so much and have reread them to death whenever a new book has come out, but I feel like they just get worse as the series goes along. Too much recap, not enough going forward with the life of Betsy Taylor, Vampire Queen.

Davidson keeps Queen Betsy and her entourage (friends) moving forward in this latest installment. Same characters but with an "Altered Timeline" (thanks to Betsy's trip to Hell) - only spoiler alert - some of the names have changed (not to protect the innocent). Easy enough to figure out - but the first pages take a (teeny-tiny) bit more concentration than usual. The usual self-centered problems for our Queen of the Vamps, but will Betsy triumph? You'll just have to read to figure it out for yourself.

Like me some Betsy the Vampire Queen books. Enjoyed this one as well. Just fun stories, easy and entertaining reads.
Same old same old... 29 Nov. 2014

Boring - it's still funny and a good story but it's just the same script slightly re-written with the same slightly re-written cast.
