Very poor effort. 24 April 2009
Format:Paperback
I was recomended this book by a mate at work & having read it from cover to cover its probably the worst book I have ever read, poorly written with no real story to tell, sorry mr gaunt (I had never heard of the bloke before getting the book) A VERY POOR EFFORT.

The main theme of this book is a phoney persona and a fabricated working class life.
Gaunt is full of self-pity and wants us to feel sorry for his so-called hard upbringing and cheer his so-called rise to the top.
True he writes a column for the best newspaper in the world but he is no Richard Littlejohn, Kelvin McKenzie or Garry Bushell.
He also presents a show on Talksport but he is no James Whale, Nick Ferrari or Steve Allen...and his TV appearances are pure phone panto.
Gaunt is just a poor writer he got lucky and this book is not a genuine story of a working class hero.

Slef-serving tripe 29 Jan 2009
Format:Paperback
Just what you would expect from a man who has made a career of spouting out half informed biggoted opinions.

The only time this book brought a smile to my face was when reading the part when he describes loosing his virginity. The awkward style of writing makes it one of the most unintentionaly hillarious things i have ever read. What a repressed man.

Don't buy this book.
