If you have a passion for technology and how it can improve our lives and constantly question why things have to be a certain way, then this book is for you. Each short section is called a byte which appropriatly delivers an easily digestible concise snack of knowledge. Perfect for time-poor people that need to get the nitty gritty. Subjects are wide ranging from micro-identity chip implants to why efficiency does not scale linearly with more employees (Cochrane's law of secretaries). The format invites you to dive in and out start at the middle, back or front and devour little gems of knowledge as you do, delivered with a sense of humour to boot. Just superb.

I found this a very interesting read for anyone concerned with the way in which we will live our lives in the future and the implications it has for the world of work and organisations.

should hang in every executive toilet- the book that is, not the estimable Mr.Cochrane - the better to enhance quiet contemplation of the horrors and challenges of the world of tech.
If I had one criticism, it's that some of the themes start to repeat, but given the genesis of the book that's not surprising. But few people will read it cover to cover anyway, and more generally, what did someone once say - common sense is just genius with its work clothes on?
