Book Description

3 April 2014 Uncle John's Bathroom Reader
Weighing in at over 400 pages, "Uncle John's Bathroom Reader Attack of the Factoids" is a fact-a-palooza of obscure information. Like what, you ask?Well, did you know that bats always turn left when they exit a cave? How about that in the 1960s astronauts trained for moon voyages by walking on Hawaiian lava fields? Also, Lloyd's of London insured Bruce Springsteen's voice for 3.5 million English pounds, military toilet paper is printed in a camouflage design, Elvis Presley always wore a helmet when watching football on TV, King Henry VIII's ladies at court had a ration of one gallon of beer per day, it takes the energy from 50 leaves on an apple tree to produce one ripe fruit, and the only country to host the Summer Olympics but not win a single gold medal was Canada, in 1976. But that's just the beginning! So what are you waiting for? ATTACK!

3.0 out of 5 stars Middle of the Road Review for this Series 21 Mar 2014
By Ronald E. Foore - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
These little books are usually interesting and informative as well as entertaining. This one, not so much. It kind of appears to be put together rather quickly and not, in my opinion, one of the best efforts for this sort of book. Maybe these books have begun to run out of interesting tidbits and these factoids just aren't very creative or though provoking. It is what it is though, so it is not like I was disappointed - just expected more.

3.0 out of 5 stars Again With the Trivia! 28 May 2014
By Michael OConnor - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Depending on how big a fan you are of UNCLE JOHN BATHROOM READERS, you may view ATTACK OF THE FACTOIDS as a marvelous helping of trivia or a thrown-together rehash of new stuff and previously-published material.

ATTACK OF THE FACTOIDS tops off at 404 pages. The material is divided into sections entitled 'Roads & Transportation,' 'Crime and Punishment,' 'Travel Log,' 'Rich & Famous,' 'Quote Me,' 'Plants & Animals,' 'Ancient History,' 'Notable Numbers,' etc. Most run to a single sentence or single paragraph.

Having been an BR addict since the first volume, I' m opting for sitting on the fence on this one. It's interesting but I had a distinct sense of deja vu. Your call, folks.
5.0 out of 5 stars Best Book Series 7 Aug 2014
By Chris Moore - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It is tough to write a review for Uncle John's books because they are all great in their own ways. I own over 20 of these books and they are some of the best knowledge anywhere. I am currently completing my doctorate and have to read intense books often. My icing at the end of every night before I fall asleep is reading and Uncle John book. The stories are interesting and I have learned quite a bit over the years. I sometimes am embarrassed by how many times I reference facts I learned from Uncle John.
5.0 out of 5 stars It can get confusing but the book is worth it and all books are like that now 30 Jun 2014
By Barb - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
It has tons of facts in short articles of one or two paragraphs each. They are grouped into one general subject per page with puny titles. They do even cover a few bathroom topics e.g. the historical development of toilet paper. The spell check always misses words with different spelling, different meanings, same pronunciations e.g. their, there and they're. It can get confusing but the book is worth it and all books are like that now.
4.0 out of 5 stars ANOTHER GREAT EDITION 28 May 2014
By Julia tortorici - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
The only thing negative, is that each bathroom reader always repeats some items. also, it would be helpful if these books were numbered in sequence.
