..the reign of Chuck Austen and a dark moment in X-Men History. Hope was Chuck's first story arc in Uncanny X-Men and was pretty dire (the rest of his work was even worse). The dialogue, storyline and charactets seem forced, 2 dimensional and watered down versions of their former selves.

Hope sees the return of Juggernaut, Havok (finally returning from the Mutant X universe), Polairs and the introduction of Nurse Annie, Carter and Squid Boy. Its really a book to lend and I dont recommend buying it.

Uncanny X-men:hope, is a book that you can pick up and read anywhere. The script is imaginative and in places quite funny, but the thing that really makes this book head and shoulders above the rest is the absolutely brilliant illustrations. These illustrations show the book of at its best and make it a great book. I strongly suggest that you read this book.

I love this book. It has incredible artwork, a great plot, and it brings back a long-loved, rarely seen character from the annals of comic history. The theme that is prevalent throughout all X-Books (racism and unity) are shown brilliant in this book, through the new character "Nurse Annie". Her repetition of a single line become very emotive and shocking towards the end of her story-arc. Another major feature is the secondary-mutation of one of the founding X-Men. And he's no longer blue...
You need this book. It would be a good idea if you bought "Poptopia" aswell, as the baddies from the Uncanny X-men series are introduced in that book. If u were thinking of buying "day of the atom", "golgotha" or any of that series, you'll need this book too.
It's a pivotal installment of the lives of the X-Men
