I have just finished reading this book and, although I have never written a review before, I felt compelled to put pen to paper.

This true story is a real rollercoaster of emotions for the reader but is so well written that I couldn't put it down! It is a terrible account of an abused child's life but incredibly Ferzanna Riley has managed to recall humorous events too! I also learnt so much about Muslim culture that I had not known about or fully understood prior to reading this book.

It is hard to believe that this is the author's first book and I would love to know what has happened in her life since she married her wonderful husband. I really hope that a second book is coming out soon as me, all my family and friends can't wait to continue reading about this incredible life story.

I highly recommend this book to anyone!! Not only is it written in an easy to read and very informative style, but you will also get hooked on the story. I read the book in one day as i was not able to put it away once i had started.

It amazed me how strong Ferzanna was and is and that she never lost her sense of humour even after all that happened to her.

The conflict of religion and life style was also written with great passion and detail. I learned a lot of things about muslim culture
, their life style and religion which i hadn't known before.

Thank you Ferzanna for such an amzing and emotional book that gives hope to other childhood abuse survivors that something good can come out of every life story, no matter how hard the start might have been.

A book that will make you laugh, cry, and question our daily lifes and believes.

this was a sort of story that makes you not want to put it down. i found that this book gives you a feeling of what really happens behind closed doors. what a person has to go through espeacailly those that are limited to freedom and qthoses that live in such a tight community that they make you feel suffocated. Not recommended for the faint hearted it brought tears to my eyes.

Spirit and then some....
Ferzanna's story is harrowing to say the least. This biography is a sad indictment of the way that that the 'Religion of Peace' treats women as a commodity to be traded and abused... Read more

A fantastic read
One of the most compelling personal stories I've read. Excuse the cliche but Ferzanna Riley really does take you on an emotional rollercoaster ride through her dramatic upbringing. Read more
