"Unbroken" is the brand new, fifth studio album by AOR/glam metal singer Fiona Flanagan. Most would agree that Fiona was a major player of the female fronted rock scene of the mid '80s- early `90s having delivered a string of albums that touched upon such genres as melodic hard rock, AOR, glam/sleaze metal and pop-rock.
"Unbroken" is also crafted from the same musical mixture described above, providing the ideal comeback for Fiona. Though clearly a solo album, Fiona is supported by leading forces of melodic rock on this effort. "House of Lords" leader James Christian handles songwriting and production, AOR hero Tommy Denander performs guitars while also complementing on arrangements, never forgetting Robin Beck who performs backing vocals as well as sharing a duet with Fiona on "This Heart". So we are basically looking at the same team that cut Beck's latest studio album "The Great Escape".
Fiona for her part writes the majority of the lyrics while also bringing in former band mate guitarist Bobby Messano. As you would expect, Robin is on top vocal form, having lost none of her range and attack which combined with high quality songwriting delivers many memorable tracks in "Love along the way", "Badge of Love", "I love you but shut up" and "Everything you are". If you are a fan of melodic rock and enjoyed the latest works of Robin Beck and Issa, you should definitely try Fiona's new album "Unbroken".
