Kate Douglas is back on form with the Demon Lovers trilogy. YEAH!!!!!!!
on 27 October 2011
I liked the author's Chanku/Wolf Tales at the start, then when they got a bit repetitive, and she put out the first in the Demon Slayers series, I thought that I'd be getting a great new series and tales, but I couldn't get into that. I only bought this book as it was so cheap, and boy, am I glad that I did. It was fast-paced, sexy, with a real tale, danger, supernatural baddies and some hot and heavy stuff.
This is a very short tale, barely 5 chapters long, which introduces us to demon-slayers, who are latent-demons themselves, and lovers, Locan and Jett, who with their 'fulcrum' Leah, battle the monsters that exist on our earth. Except that Leah is their anchor through a sense of duty, not through desire or love for them, and she is tired of the constant fight against evil. One night, she is injured, but manages to imbue a passing human, Addie, who'd heard her cry for help, with her powers, consciousness and memories, before dying. Addie has been on the margaritas, so she thinks that it's all a dream....
...until she wakes up to two hunks in her bedroom, and a monster in her living room trying to kill them all. After that, it's a crash course for Addie into the realm of the Demon Slayers, and with some hot M/M/F and M/F/M sex thrown in too. By the end, she's in love with the guys and in training to become a slayer herself.
A good, quick, hot and sexy read, which has made me already buy book 2, in which Jett is injured, and it's up to his lovers to save him. Will report back idc.
You also get an extract of the final Chanku book, book 12, and one of the first Demon Slayers tale.
