After being very successful in the 80's with Pegamoides and Dinarama, Alaska and Nacho Canut started a new project: Fangoria. They released 4 fantastic albums (Salto Mortal, Un dia cualquiera en Vulcano 1,Un dia cualquiera en Vulcano 2 & Un dia cualquiera en Vulcano 3) and mainstream press ignored them. Sales were bad and they struggled to survived as a band. With this CD they became popular again and they sold 1000's of CD. After this CD they have released Naturaleza Muerta and Arquitectura Efimera plus some compilations. This CD for me is their best CD ever. Very electronic, very intelligent, very Alaska, very trendy, etc.
Nowadays they are a big band again, with loads of gigs and big sales. They are still fantastic. And Alaska is a very charming and charismatic person; and very approchable if you bump into her.
I highly recommend this album wo anyone who is into electronic music.

A bipolar, wonderful CD 1 Jan. 2003
By Larry D. Rodriguez - Published on
Format: Audio CD
This was the first album ever that I heard by Fangoria. I am stunned that their albums aren't more widely available in the U.S. This is some of the best electronica en espanol that you can buy.
This CD seems to be composed of two "themes"- one of tranquil introspection, and one of angry, jaded bitterness. Here are some comments about the album tracks:
1. Cierra Los Ojos- This track is very pensive, and melancholy. It features such lines as "y ahora perdoname, me duele mas que a ti, yo no te puedo accompanar en tu viaje final." Every line that Alaska sings is repeated, in spoken-word, by a male voice in the background.
2. Me Odio Cuando Miento- One of the the great highlights of the CD, along with Electricistas. It begins with, "Vimos pasar el cometa, tumbados sobre la arena." Me Odio Cuando Miento is an aural joy.
3. No Sera- The tempo picks up here. Almost as good of a song as Me Odio Cuando Miento.
4. Contradiccion- Falls into the bitter, jaded catagory. An atheist-goth diatribe, it is typical of the occasional forays into atheism that Fangoria is known for.
5. Electricistas- The other killer track of the whole album, and the most danceable one. Goth-electronica at its best.
6. Cenizas de Sangre- One of the two tracks on the album to be avoided completely. I can't say much about it, because I've never heard the entire track, but it seems to be just some electronic horror-house sounds jumbled together. Same can be said for Accusada, Juzgada, y Condenada.
7. El Glamour de La Locura- Another serene track, that features some tribal-sounding drum beats in the background.
8. Voy a Perder el Miedo- A song that, in my mind, would sound better if set to an acoustic guitar. A touch of atheism in the lyrics.
9. Todo Lo Que Odio Debe de Morir- Another dreamy-goth track.
10. A Tu Lado- Features the wonderful line, "que nunca he sido fiel, ni mucho menos a ti, que nunca fui feliz a tu lado." Ends in some hip-hop turntable-scratching sounds
11. Abre Los Ojos- Another diatribe, this time about opening one's eyes to the pitfalls of Adam and Eve, and original sin.
In short, this is an album that should not be overlooked. Give it a try! The only thing that prevents it from being a five-star album is that it is a little marred by less-than-ideal sound quality, and a couple of nonsensical, unlistenable tracks.

One of best Fangoria albums 16 Sept. 2010
By Rodrigo - Published on
Format: Audio CD
Fangoria has almost always tried with electropop style songs, in this album they went a little bir far and we could find "approaches" to other sub-electronic styles.

Let's talk about the songs:

CIERRA LOS OJOS opens the a very slow electropop songs with an strange and even "sadistic" lyrics, pretty good way to open the album

ME ODIO CUANTO MIENTO is the 2nd song and is also slow, very minimal electropop, the lyrics are unique !!! etheral and perfect, this song is one of their bests.
next song is NO SERÁ very electropop and with interesting lyrics, really great too !"" Later we find CONTRADICCIÓN wich is very song and rare, more soft-rocker..

The 5th song is ELECTRICISTAS, is a perfect. ethereal and magical electropo song, definitely perfect !!!!! One of the bes songs that Fangoria hava made, I CAN ALSO SAY THE SAME KIND WORDS to the follow song which is called CENIZAS DE this case, the track experimented a little bit with trip hop, and drum n bass with emerging electronic guitars sounds, is a powerful perfect song and the lyrics are sooo poetic !!! really cool !!

Next song is EL GLAMOUR DE LA LOCURA which has jungle-etnic electropop sounds, pretty cool hear the LIONSKING...Later we have another electro-rocker song called ACUSADA, JUZGADA Y CONDENADA, very powerfull and heartbreaking.

Next 2 songs are TODO LO QUE AMO DEBE MORIR and VOY A PERDER EL MIEDO, both are minimal electropop, with really cool lyrics about "personal improvement".

A TU LADO is an electropop song, very powerfull and nice which is connected at last with the last song:ABRE LOS OJOS, The lead singer just talk in it, is very electronic and experimental...pretty cool !

In fac, this is a very conceptual album, perfect and enjoyable, is one step in front of all the electropop disc standard, so i definitely recommend this to all of you.

Just have to say that even when this album was recorded in 1999, is really bad mastered, sounds like it was mastered in 1993 so the volume is alittle bit low and some songs has a few scratches but is a really great album !!!

Buy it or download it legally, is one of the best albums that fangoria has put out.

A very dark but exelent cd 100%electronica,some really deep songs and really good beats, there songs about everything in here from a farewell song to a friend with aids("CIERRA LOS OJOS")to songs about the downside of being famous and glamourus("EL GLAMOUR de LA LOCURA")as well as sending subliminal messages about drugs("ELECTRICISTAS")and some great love songs("A TU LADO","VOY A PERDER MIEDO","ME ODIO CUANDO MIENTO")and all songs are great, way far from the punk days of PEGAMOIDES,KAKAdeLUXE and dinarama.

Listening to Fangoria is like an acquired taste. You can definitely see on their latest 2 albums (Naturaleza Muerta being the best in my own opinion) that they have matured a lot in the way they put sounds together. This CD is a must in a good Fangoria collection. Tracks not to be missed are 'Me odio cuando miento', 'No será', 'Acuzada, juzgada y condenada' among others.
