About four years ago I happened to visit Chester for the first time in years . It was a busy Saturday afternoon and a hot day . I heard a sound ,music coming from somewhere it was beautiful .I just had to find out where it was coming from .Im pretty sure it was the track Orange that Ed was playing . I stood mesmerized , listening ,ashamed that Id never heard of this guy .Thats changed, Iv got five of his CDs iv seen him live only four times unfortunately but he seems to be playing in York now so hopefully Ill catch him again before long .
The track orange to me is a perfect piece of music perfectly performed ! But so are all the other tracks Its just that Orange is special because its the one that first caught my attention and led me to a very unique and talented musician and hours of happily listening to fabulous music .

In response to an earlier review, I saw/heard Ed playing in York a couple of days ago, and bought this CD based on hearing him play Orange. It was great to watch him play, and I'm glad I bought the CD. It works best for me as ambient or background music; not something I'm likely to put on and just sit and listen to. None the worse for that though - I listen to a lot of music while doing other things.

A wonderful talent, exquisitely performed. Purchase this album and you will spend many delightful hours lost in the subtleties of the sweeping sounds reminiscent of so many cultures. The pyrotechnics of the electric violin are evident yet well controlled. A lesson in composition and arrangement. Astounding and marvellous!
