This is one of the best in the Ultra Lounge series. If you like Swing or Big Band you will be missing out on a real treat. Classic TV & Film themes done in the best way possible - with a Swinging Big Band that just comes up and slaps you in the face with it. Brilliant ! (And get Utra Lounge's "Wild, Cool & Swinging" and "Wild, Cool & Swinging Too" as well. Go on - you know you want to !).

The selection of tracks on The Crime Scene is a familiar array of tunes that are suddenly re-activated from the memory banks once played. The brassy, sassy nature of the the tracks will set to foot tapping and mooching around without even realising it. It is not only mellow for relaxing with the lights down low, but equally fantastic loud.

Capitol have hit on a winning formula here, also a good way to revive their back catalogue. Some very familiar titles here, I well remember Staccato's Theme by Elmer Bernstein, The Man With The Golden Arm, also of course Mission Impossible, Walk On The Wild Side, etc.

Great late night listening and it's my ambition to own the entire series!

Crime noir and the soundtrack to hard men and tough women trapped in a black and white post war weary world. A soundtrack to a familiar theme blasting cobwebs into dust, back straight beckoning with one finger for a Cocktail, a starter and a pair of cufflinks for a starched white shirt. The man is staring straight into the woman's eyes whilst she is searching for the bulge of a wallet or a gun. She looks into the mirror to see if anyone more red translucent lipstick needs to accentuate the blonde bleached coiffure and feeling the extreme confidence of a woman in her prime, meets his gaze and stares him down.

This is deadly music played with Big Bands making a Bigger noise. Each tune is now part of a collective memory as the images arise with each blast of pure sax pronouncing another rapid heart beat, near miss, corpse in the stairwell and a feeling of conquest. Jazz sounded cool, unearthy, vibe rant, sexy and doomed.

Take it into your room. Turn it on, the lights will dim whilst the atmosphere sizzles

What can I add to the other reviews?

Mood music, memory jogger, nostalgia all in one.

Put it in the car stereo, wind the windows down and the volume up and watch the heads turn!

Not all audio hooligans are under 19 playing the latest chart!
