For the price, you can't beat these basic pregnancy tests as unlike the more expensive ones, you can do as many tests as you like without having to worry about the cost.

Ease of use - It's a bit annoying that you have to take a urine sample and wait until it is room temperature as you want to do the test straight away!

When I first tried to do a test, I got confused by the instruction to open the pouch and "remove the strip" as I didn't know it meant to remove the pregnancy test itself from the pouch, so I spent ages looking for a strip to peel off the test - before accidentally peeling the test apart and breaking it! Fortunately they're cheap and I had plenty more to use!

Once you've worked out how to use it (or if you're less stupid than me!), the test is easy to use. You can see it's working as you can see the urine moving up the test strip and the control line (next to the blue section which you hold) appears immediately. You then need to time 4 minutes before getting the final result - although it says that positive results can be observed after 40 seconds and when I got a positive result, the test line appeared in around this time even though the line was only faint. There's a warning to throw the test away after 10 minutes as the result is no longer accurate, which is a bit frustrating as you want to keep re-checking the result to convince yourself!

Another downside compared to the more expensive tests is that there's no cap to put over the section with your urine on - not particularly pleasant if you want to show the test to your partner to give him the news! (I put the test on the book by his bed and he wasn't amused!!)

Accuracy - I did a test 3-4 days before my period was due and it was negative. The same month, I did another test 1-2 days after my period was due and there was a faint line showing a positive result. The line was a bit bolder 5 days after my period was due but still not nearly as bright as the control line. Although it describes itself as "ultra early", this shows that it won't give an early result for everyone so you can get false negatives.

After getting a positive result/faint line, I wanted to confirm this with a digital test. I like the Clearblue one with conception indicator. The cheap test did give an accurate result when it was positive, but since the line was faint I felt I might be imagining it, so wanted a digital test that actually said "Pregnant" on the screen! However, using the cheap tests meant that I only needed to use an expensive test when I had a good idea it would be positive. This would save you a lot of money if you're trying for a baby for a number of months and want to do tests each month. Using the Clearblue test to confirm a positive result is also good as the result stays on the screen for hours and you don't have to throw it away after 10 minutes.

So, I would recommend this as the first pregnancy test you do, but for peace of mind I would recommend using a more expensive to confirm a positive result. I know a faint line IS a positive result, but psychologically it feels less positive than the word "Pregnant"!!

After buying the ovulation strips and seeing how easy they were to use i decided to purchase the pregnancy test strips. They are great and picked up a faint positive 5 DAYS before my missed period. I am pregnant and over the moon! Would def recommend these and the ovulation strips :) Good luck ladies

I bought these a few weeks back, tried one a few days before I was due and sure enough there was a very faint line. Tried another in case it was just me, same thing.... I had read on here that quite a few others also had very faint lines for a positive test. Bought a Clearblue test and sure enough I am pregnant.
These are a great price, quickly delivered, I had mine the next day and they work very well.
