If you're reading this, I assume you know who Brian Michael Bendis is and what a great writer he is. This script book contains scripts from the following issues-

Ultimate Spider-Man 1/2 (Spidey vs Iron Fist)

Ultimate Spider-Man #13 (Peter reveals his identity to Mary Jane)

Ultimate Spider-Man #28 (Spidey vs the Rhino... sorta)

Ultimate Spider-Man #45 (Aunt May vs her feelings)

Ultimate Marvel Team-Up #9 (Spidey & Fantastic Four)

Ultimate Marvel Team-Up #11 (Spidey & the X-Men)

Ultimate Spider-Man Super Special (Spidey & everybody)

There's a great introduction written by Bendis - along with short intros to each script and why he chose that particular script for inclusion in the book. He chose a good variety of scripts. Bendis writes his scripts in Final Draft - so they read just like screenplays. These are clearly his original scripts, including typos and formatting errors.

The only reason this gets 4 stars instead of 5 are the needlessly stupid and inconsistent censoring of curse words done in this heavy black squares that make you think you're reading some classified military documents. Not only distracting, the censoring is without any rhyme or reason - certain words are only censored some of the time and other words are only censored in the script but not in Bendis' introductions.

Also, don't know why the description says the book is "unbound" - it comes bound just like any softcover trade paperback.

If you're interested in comic book writing - or just want to gander at the wizard behind the curtain, this is a solid book.
5.0 out of 5 stars More than I even hoped for. 27 July 2011

As an avid comic book fan (Spidey in particular) it was really great to see a bit of a behind the scenes peak into the text/ story etc of a series. Also as an aspiring graphic novel writer this gave me a great grasp on the differences between a narrative live action script (which I've been writing for years) and a comic book script (which I just started writing). Hooray! That's my final word on it. :)
