In my opinion, the best book for any auto sport driver or enthusiast. I am an iRacing.com driver and started reading this book at license class D. In 3 months, I progressed to class B and gained over 900 iRating points. Two wins, and 80%+ top five finishes later, I have to credit the lessons in this book. Because this is truly a collection of several books, some of the information is repeated in a different way. I find that it is good to reinforce those points, but I could find my self skipping ahead in some sections. Many of the discussion is focused on road racing, but oval and other forms of racing can follow the same principals. One of my favorite parts of the book are the speed secret boxes. Within the book, there are small, one line messages that reinforce a key lesson. I find thumbing through the book and reading these boxes helps me focus on what I need to do on the track and/or gain that extra second or two. Illustrations are spot on and I refer to them often as well. I highly recommend this book, it is my #1.

what secret?? more than half of this book deals with human mentality and motivation concepts. these are all right but where are the real technique and race strategy and driving skills?? I've found little of them not so much helpful to me

To teoretical ,not enough hands on driving explanations. I had expected a much more practical handbook, how to handle a race car.
