For a start, who would skate to pink, the rasmus, or n.e.r.d. etc. Skaters generally listen to actual punk music, e.g. pennywise, not some washed up pop-punk crap.
And to top it all off, some of the finest bands in modern music (Death cab for cutie, brand new, my awesome compilation) are piled on here so that all the 10-year-old-hoody-and-dreddies-sporting-kids can think theyve discovered a 'hip' new band just because theyre not in the charts and in turn boucne about in their living room to them.
This CD is an absolute outrage to rock music, largely because most of the artists on here arent rock, they are pop, hip hop, or trying-to-be-nu-metal (you knows it rasmus fans).
Please dont buy this.
Two CD's, and 23 GREAT tracks (probably more).
CD1: Beginning with Blink 182, one of the best tracks from their self-titled album, passing excellent tunes by Fountains Of Wayne, The Rasmus and Avril Lavigne. Then, track 7 is not really sk8er rock, but a great rock tune regardless, Shining Light by Ash, one of the best groups around at the moment. Then a perfect song by Papa Roach, plus tracks by Feeder, The Vines and Incubus. Then, a strong track by the lostprophets, though not their strongest. Then Muse, and a perfect song by The All-American Rejects. Then, at the end of disc one, Evanescence and Jet, rounded off by Nirvana Outtakes, the Foo Fighters.
Disc 2 is the weaker of the two, with tracks by NERD, D12 and Sum 41. The 1st standout track is Boss Of Me, by They Might Be Giants, the theme of Malcolm In The Middle. Then comes Cooper Temple Clause and Kings Of Leon, with two outstanding indie rock tracks. They also have tracks by Marilyn Manson and Good Charlotte. Then, the poppier songs come in, but no less strong rock songs, with P!nk, McFly and Busted. Squashed in between those are tracks by Maroon 5 and Funeral For A Friend. The album rounds off with HIM, with Solitary Man (probably one of their weakest tracks) and The Offspring, with the 1990's anthem Pretty Fly For A White Guy.
Overall, this has 42 songs, all of which deserve to be sat on a CD player, and kept there. All of the stronger tracks out play the weaker songs, and stops you from hitting 'Skip' too often!
Listen Out For: Blink 182, Avril, Rasmus, Ash, Lost Prophets, Muse, All American Rejects, Evanescence, McFly, Pink and Maroon 5.
