There are some fantastics tracks on this cd, however no thought appears to have been given as to the order, it does not flow well. Oxygen 4 appears to be some sort of remix version, certainly not the original which is a major disappointment
tracks i could do without - cd 1 shout remix, gritty shaker, clubbed to death (more like bored to death) cd 2 - mad about the boy (does not fit well), tiny dancer. It would have been nice if Universal could have included some more tracks to replace the ones i have mentioned and lend a hand to the overall blend and theme. For me it smacks of lets put a load of popular 'chillout tracks' on a cd that we know we will sell, rather than a collection (which would still sell) for the music fan who is a bit more sophisticated in his or her musical tastes. Highlights for me are Albatross, eagle, tahitian sunset, cafe del mar, fool on the hill

This is the kind of elevator muzak that encourages you to take the stairs. Was there ever such a misnomer as 'easy listening'? Such music is the hardest of all to endure.
For people afraid of thinking too much or feeling too deeply or of encountering anything unexpected or of getting too excited, this offers the perfect retreat. It's a comfort blanket of sound.
With 41 tracks from different artists, inevitably there will be some with merit. There are 4: Bach's Air on a G String, Barber's Adagio for Strings, Dinah Washington singing Mad About the Boy and Pavarotti singing Nessun Dorma. This can either be seen as a saving grace for the album, or an insult to the four composers and performers responsible.
If you really want to 'chillout' to 'laidback' music, and if you can really distinguish the sounds on this album from those on the laidback chillout CDs you already have, then go for it. But try 'taking the stairs' once in a while; you'll be glad you did.

I bought my copy from SquirrelSounds and it arrived in good time [I'm in London, UK] and I really like it, it is perfect if you had a bad day at work and you come home and want to listen to something to help you unwind, with a glass of your favourite drink. And I think it's a good mix - slow music with a few fast beat tracks. Love it!!!
