About the Author
Ross Halfin is one of the top music photographers in the world today. After starting with Sounds magazine in England in the late 1970s, he helped launch Kerrang!
As well as Metallica, he has been closely associated with a number of top metal acts including Def Leppard, Ozzy Osbourne and Plant & Page. Originally from Denmark, he is now based in the UK.

Music is one thing, but you need the image to go with it (nothing new here) and Metallica owe a lot of their success to Ross Halfin's talent.
This collection not only contains some of the best Metallica shots, it also comes with some good advice on how to shoot live bands too. From early tour bus to stage, bigger audiences to backstage, bodyguards-in-the-way to right-in-your-face. It's as Robert Capa said: if your pictures aren't good enough, you're not close enough.
And Ross gets very close.
A band and a Photographer that fit very well together. Lars, Ross... face it, you're made for each other.
...and Ross Halfin has a travel photo book coming up too... I know what I want for Christmas!
