5.0 out of 5 stars Human Cockfighting ! 29 Dec 2000
By A Customer
This beats the **** out of WWF! Mixed Martial Artists (inc Sumo, KickBoxing, Karate, Judo) fight it out bare knuckle style without rules. The format of having different styles fight to submission / K.O. makes for awsome viewing. Some of the editing in the video is 'No Rules' too, but it doesn't detract from the overall enjoyment. I only wish I lived in the USA so I could buy it 'pay per view' !

3.0 out of 5 stars UFC III - Ultimate Fighting Championship 25 Oct 2001
UFC III Fight Card:
Emmanuel Yarborough (Sumo) Vs. Keith Hackney (Kempo Karate)
Ken Shamrock (Shoot Fighting) Vs. Christopher Leininger (Judo)
Harold Howard (Ju Jitsu) Vs. Ronald Paine (Maui Tai)
Royce Grace (Ju Jitsu) Vs. Kimo (Tai Kwon Do)

More varied styles, but an overall higher standard of competitor than UFC II. Royce again looks very good in UFC III and has one of his toughest fights, against Kimo, who certainly doesn't represent Tai Kwon Do, as there are NO flicky high Kicks !! [Nothing against Tai Kwon Do Honest! ;)].
Harold Howard fights well and has a good fight with Roland Paine, but unfortunately the end of the fight is cut... Why ??? (shown in a later UFC)
Ken Shamrock has a great fight against Leninger, but then puts on a poor show against his much less capable second opponent.
Keith Hackney T-s off with the biggest Professional athlete of that time, Emmanuel Yarborough (600lbs). Great fight. Interesting to see how effective low point sidekicks are to a bigger guy. But AGAIN the end of this fight is cut as Hackney rains down punch after punch to the face of the large Sumo Wrestler. Again.. Why ??
Sorry to say that the poorly educated (in the Martial Arts) Jim Brown is still on the commentary team, offering his really useful comments [sigh :-( ].
Great Final, with some excellent reversals.
In summary, a good video, but if you want see more technique then try a later UFC.

The bloodiest tournament in the USA arrives for the third time. This features some of the most brutal, barefist, nose and arm breakages as 8 men go at it. With a $60,000 purse would you step into the "Octagon"? The favourite defending champion Royce Gracie returns and features in one of the best bouts ever as he and Ken Shamrock beat the shit out of each other! Watch and learn!

4.0 out of 5 stars UFC 3 12 Jan 2001
By A Customer
The UFC is a full contact, mixed martial arts tournament pitting fighters from all around the world in one on one compettion. This is a brutal example of what happens when the glitz, glammer and "Worked" endings are removed from pro wrestling- very bloody and very fast. This is well worth watching, but if it isn`t brutal enough get hold of UFC 7 and watch Marco Ruas kill (figure of speech) all comers!

1.0 out of 5 stars DISSAPPOINTING 21 Mar 2000
By A Customer
WHAT THE HELL IS THE FIRST REVEIWER TALKING ABOU! SHAMROCK AND GRACIE DON'T GET IT ON AT ALL COS THEY BOTH THROW IN THE TOWEL BEFORE EITHER OF THEM GET TO THE FINAL DUE TO INJURIES (GRACIE) AND EXHAUSTION (SHAMROCK). IT'S HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THESE FIGHTERS WERE GIVING IT ALL. THEY DIDN'T USE EYE GOUGES OR GROIN HOLDS WHICH ARE BOTH LEGAL (ALTHOUGH YOU GET FINED-BUT WOULD DEFINITELY WIN YOU THE FIGHT)....
