Normally I'd say that you'd be mad to buy this before reading the previous six volumes, but God War, like many of the other Ultimate Fantastic Four story arcs, stands up well enough on its own (although, if you haven't read the other books, you may wish to read the "Previously" section on the inside cover, just so you know the origins.)
I now have Ultimate Fantastic Four 1 to 7, and I can by far say that God War is my favourite of them all. I may even go as far to say that it is my favourite comic book ever. The story is captivating, moving fast enough to be interesting, but at the same time, creating an excellent storyline. There are also some awesome fight scenes (exploding spaceship anyone?) Admittedly, towards the end, the plot slips in favour of dramatic fight sequences, but it's worth it.
When I saw the cover, I was a tad sceptical of the art style, but I needn't have been. Ferry's artwork is brilliant, conveying so much emotion in the character's expressions. The Human Torch has a new haircut as well, which is good, because the last one made him look about twelve years old.

Overall, "Ultimate Fantastic Four: God War" is an excellent comic book, with a action packed storyline, great artwork, and does a good job of introducing a classic 616 villain into the Ultimate Universe.
