a complimentary adition to an existing collection

This C.D. compliments my collection nicelly, where it has a song I already have, it is by a different artist, orchestra or conductor. It is a very well researched and thought out C.D. I would recomend it to anyone who already loves Opera, and to anyone who is new to Opera. It has a wonderfull variety and is very high quality. Volume II of this series is equally worthwhile I might add, I bought them both on a whim, and have not been sorry.

Excellent choices, fantastic recording quality

Not only is this a great collection of titles and singers but this is an outstanding recording. In cases where I have a duplicate of one of the songs on another CD, the audio quality of this is always far superior. Even my copy Carmen cannot compete in terms of sound quality.

I admit a certain impatience in listening to entire operas on CD so compilations are great for me. Some of my favorite arias by my favorite artists are this CD including Che Gelida Manina from La Boheme, Soave sia il vento from Cosi Fan Tutti and Toreador's Song from Carmen among others. Kiri Te Kanawa, Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras lead the vocals.
