Outstanding folk metal 16 Dec 2010

This is some outstanding folk metal with an emphasis on METAL. Lots of folk instruments, chanting, singing in thier native throaty language, and mead-hall effects are used but when the power sections kick in they really kick in. These dutchmen have created a wonderful disc of teutonic storied pagan metal. Elements of TYR, FALKENBACH, VINTERSORG, but wholly unique at the same time. Fans of this genre will thoroughly enjoy.

I was not disappointed with Heidevolk's album. Nearly a year after purchasing it, it still has a place among my current playlist. Cannot wait to hear more from this group in the future.
