Cant see any information on preorder only DLC in the game description? It would be helpful if you put it in Amazon. Other online retailers have put this in.
Pawn Upgrade Pack - Begin your Dragon's Dogma adventure with an additional 2,000 Rift Crystals! This early `cash advance' will allow you to enlist higher level PAWNs early on in addition to having an expanded set of items available for purchase at Aestella's shop in Cassardis!
Weapons Upgrade Pack - Start off your adventure in Dragon's Dogma with a weapon upgrade! This weapons pack will stock your item storage with dependable weapons for Fighter, Strider and Mage. With an Iron Sword, a Criteria, and a Wooden Staff, each upgraded, your adventuring will be a piece of Cassardian Fishcake.
Armor Upgrade Pack - Commence your adventure in Dragon's Dogma with an armor upgrade early in the game. This armor pack will stock your item storage with sturdy armors for Fighter, Strider and Mage. A Farewell Hood, Farewell Gloves, and a Farewell Cloak will help you no matter your new vocation, making your adventures sweet and easy as Meloirean pie.
from what ive been reading on other forums, the packs are gonna unlock alot of stuff early, which removes alot of the fun from playing the game,as you have to complete tasks to unlock some of the equipment,or get enough rift crystals to spend unlocking other equipment,so even if Amazon was giving the dlc code away i wouldnt use it,as the whole start of the game would be broken.
It sounds like it in the DLC description but it's really not all that much. I remember the DLC that came with Kingdoms of Amalur, it was good for a couple of hours before you found even better stuff. It's a con really.
I wouldnt think its US Amazon only, because the link I gave is for Capcom europe and the staff member is from the UK. Wouldnt make sense telling me what I can get from the US (also US Amazon is offering $10 credit and just the Weapons pack, not the other 2). Amazon UK just dont seem to know what theyre doing when it comes to games. The Capcom guy says Play have the DLC and they dont mention it at all either.
In Germany, there's a preorder bonus at certain shops which gets you 100 quests unlocked via DLC. No kidding. Don't know which quests, though, or when they will be implemented (right from the start or sth). It just says "100 quests unlocked via DLC".
The Germans arnt getting the Resi Evil demo, thats why they are getting the dlc for free, the 100 quest dlc is being released day 1 I think, personally i would have prefered the dlc to a demo i wont even use.
Thing is Jez, while I am now pretty satisfied that ASDA do have it (although it's only tagged onto the end of their item description in a way that makes it look as if its just part of the game, that's why I wanted to check that they really are offering it / know about it) because the Capcom Europe guy flat out states that my ASDA pre-order will have it ... it still remains fact that I have phoned ASDA customer services about the DLC 3 times and they dont know anything about it ...
So, doesnt really surprise me that Amazon dont know anything about it either. They just simply arent gamers and dont have a clue about these things, they can sell you a box with a disc in it but dont ask for much more than that, they dont have any gaming industry knowledge at all.
Thats what I'm thinking now, seems likely that pre-orders supplied to the retailers who are offering the DLC have codes inside, and because the retailers aren't actually doing anything (like emailing us a code) they're simply not aware of the DLC. Guess we're going to find out for sure this week.
