The idea is that you leave the GA100 permanently attached to your Palm and to that end it has a through port which itself connects to the docking cradle so you can Hotsync in the usual way. The only telltale sign that there is a second device linked to your Palm is the increase in overall size and weight, and the presence of an antenna. The GA100 has its own battery, which charges through the HotSync cradle so you can leave it on to take incoming calls when your Palm is switched off.
The GA100 comes with software for dialling, managing your SIM, and sending and receiving SMS messages. It shares phone numbers with the Palm Contacts database. You can also use the phone in conjunction with other Palm tools, such as the excellent Web Clipping. Web Clippings are tiny applications, like mini Web sites, which sit on your Palm and get specific information from Web sites rather than downloading a whole page.
