Product Description

In September 1944, as the crew of the USS Sea Viper are sent on a mission to recover a downed pilot and two POWs, they uncover an enemy plot to build WWIIs most deadly weapon.

Product Description

United Kingdom released, PAL/Region 2 DVD: LANGUAGES: English ( Dolby Digital Stereo ), ANAMORPHIC WIDESCREEN (1.78:1), SPECIAL FEATURES: Anamorphic Widescreen, Interactive Menu, Scene Access, SYNOPSIS: September, 1944. Fresh from liberty on the island of Hawaii, Horatio Culpepper, Captain of the U.S.S. SEAVIPER - one of the Navy's diesel-electric submarines, receives an order from Vice Admiral Stallerman, along with top-secret information from President Roosevelt, to rescue a downed American airplane near Sumatra. The downed pilot, an American Navy airman, is rescued with two escaped prisoners-of-war (POW) from a nearby island. But the Japanese and Germans are also discovered to be on this island together, and the submarine's landing party needs to separate. They discover that the Germans have converted U-234, a mine laying U-Boat, into a long-range submarine. They also find that the Germans have transported a deadly cargo across the Pacific to deliver to the Japanese. Why then, is this cargo so important? Forced to return to the boat while the Captain stays behind, the Chief of the Boat, Chief Keenan, realizes that he must deal with unexpected changes in command. The Executive Officer, Roitman, suffers a head injury during a depth charge attack and is relieved of duty. His rival, another officer named Cutter, rises to command. A stuck torpedo, a flooded compartment, and structural damage to the boat from a Japanese destroyer all become life-threatening, and the boat's survival is in question. ...USS Seaviper ( Sea Viper ) ( USS Sea viper )

1.0 out of 5 stars Seeing Is Believing 11 Jun 2012
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
This is what a movie would look like if it was done by a group of small children on a budget of say GBP 24.99. The script is ridiculous, acting horrible, direction obviously got lost somewhere along the line and failed to show up at the shoot.

This is supposed to be an important story of WW2, but even after forcing myself to reach the end of this disgrace, I still have no idea what the big story is about. The only thing I found amusing is the (supposedly) British officer. He keeps breathing heavily (maybe a relative of the heavy breather in Student Bodies?), showing his snowy white teeth and nose hair, while his British accent is something he could've picked up in a cheap novelty shop.

Stay away from this one. Or better yet, check it out and see for yourselves. Watching such tripe makes you appreciate quality cinema more. And that has to count for something, right?

1.0 out of 5 stars Real top notch Rubbish 13 July 2012
Format:DVD
I'm not sure I should waste my time even writing a review of this DVD, but then maybe it helps others to avoid wasting their hard earned money on it. Suffice as to say - I'd be very surprised if the budget of this movie exceeded the price of one DVD!

1.0 out of 5 stars Non Story DVD 9 July 2012
By Desboy
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
I found this DVD to lack any real story. It must have been made on the cheap the main part of the story being on board the submarine and very little trouble had been taken with regard to scenery. The story line was not easy to follow, what there was of it. I would not have bought it had I known how poor it is.

1.0 out of 5 stars The very worst of war action/drama DVDs. 22 July 2012
Format:DVD
I totally agree with the comments so far. This film lacks credible plotline. It is easy to understand what their objectives are, but really difficult to understand where they are along the path to achieving these objectives. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY on this! You have been warned!

1.0 out of 5 stars Low and behold! 2 Sep 2012
Format:DVD
Another American war movie in which the sole Brit in it is portrayed as a cowardly murderous scumbag.

Suffice to say acting and script so bad. Turned it off before the end!
