Manufacturer's Description

The ICUSB1284 USB to Parallel Interface Converter Cable allows PCs that support the USB specification to print to any standard parallel printer. The USB interface provides a much faster data transfer rate than a standard parallel port, thereby reducing the time waiting for a print job to be sent to your printer.

Worked first time, sturdy build. Always choose a branded cable as others are flimsy, often not the advertised length and may not be compatible

Worked fine for me. 29 Jan 2012

I used the product with Windows 7, and an HP Laserjet5. At first, Windows did not detect the printer; however after restarting the computer everything was detected fine. For an older program, I mapped the LPT1 port to the shared printer name, enabled pooling, and set the driver to both ports. I realize the last part sounds strange, but it was the only way I could get an old school program to print properly.
