I specifically chose this 2GB module as it was an 800MHz one though DDR2 667MHz would have done the job as the intel 945GSE chipset in the N10 does not support DDR2 above 400/533MHz - so there really was no reason to install this faster memory other than that I could probably have use for it in another system down the line which might require the faster memory.
Was simple enough to remove the old 1GB module and replace it with the new 2GB one - disconnected all leads from the NC10, turned it on it's back, and though I could have replaced the module through the hatch provided (1 screw) I actually took the back cover off (battery first) as I had also purchased an SSD drive I wanted to pop in later on - more room and less fiddly this way too.
Removed the old 1GB module and replaced it with the 2GB one, replaced cover, battery and leads and powered up the unit - memory count went up to 2GB and the system then booted into my OS (Linux).
The improvement in speed was very noticeable loading up Firefox which sprang to life in much less than half the time it normally takes to do so.
All in all a well worthwhile upgrade IMO, relatively cheap way to maximize the performance of my NC10 - and when my SSD gets installed I should get yet another significant boost and hopefully will not be looking to replace my system for some time yet.
*If you have never performed an upgrade before, while not at all a hard task do take standard precautions as all these chips can be rather sensitive to static - would also help if you read up on how to upgrade RAM on your particular system - on my NC10 I have heard others say it can be a bit fiddly upgrading via the hatch which I did not get to verify as I took the whole back cover off - which can also be considered as being rather fiddly.
