Four months ago, when the original bulb blew in my 13 year old Hotpoint fridge freezer, I purchased one of these universal replacement bulbs.

While the old bulb was quick and easy to remove, I was fiddling around for a good ten minutes trying to fit this one, but that may just have been because of the awkward angle and the fine thread of the screw fitting. Once it had finally gone in though, it lit up normally and is still going strong -- although it awaits to be seen if it lasts 13 years, like its predecessor!

UPDATE 15/02/12: This bulb has been in use for some 17 months now and is still working.

The product is still working after several months and it was much cheaper than my local electrical shop would have charged.

I bought ten to replace the rubbish bulbs in an outside lantern string. All 10 work at the moment. No idea how long they will last but already better than the original bulbs.
