When I read this book I was left with the impression of the perverbial story of "the one that got away". Everytime a new book is written on this subject the story becomes more fantastic. For several years I have tried to find an answer as to why this story will not go away even though there is so much evidence that what was found by Mac Brazel could not possibly be an alien spacecraft. I finally found my answer last July by paying a visit to Roswell NM during their 50th anniversary celebration of the event. That answer is money. This has become a cottage industry for the residents of Roswell. It has also become a living for the authors of books about the subject. There is no profit in a prosaic explanation for the event. There is only profit in keeping this ridiculous story alive. I don't know what frightens me more: the fact that Randle and Schmitt can become rich by perpetrating lies or that so many people are more than willing to believe these lies. If anyone buys this book I recommend that they also purchase the one recently written by Phillip Klass: "The Truth About Roswell" It gives a much needed perspective of the event.

I bought this book and have referred to it many times since. Bumford, Stieger, Sweetman, and Burrows are the authorities on known UFO and secret technology facts. Randle, Steiger, and Freedman are the authorities of the coverup. The information in this book rivals Brad Stieger's new book, Alien Rapture. I worked Top Secret black programs for 25 years as a DOD contractor and employee and actually worked in Area 51 of the Nellis Range. As Randle states, this technology (TR-3B) was developed from reverse engineering of crashed UFOs. I work as a science writer and editor now Look for books by Sweetman, Steiger, Burrows, Freedman, and Randle on Amazon.com These are the best writers on the subject of top secret black programs and government coverups!!!

Ufo crash 23 Mar 2000
By David Wiseman - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
This was one of the most interesting books that I have read in my life. The story talks about the whole coverup that took place at Roswell New Mexico in the summer of 1947. This was the best book that I read about the event that took place at Roswell in 1947. I have read other books about the Roswell incident but this book had so much more information than those other books. The only thing that was difficult was that the book was pretty confusing. It talked about stuff that happened in 1947 then in the next chapter it would talk about something that is going on at the present time. That aspect of the book was very confusing at times. I thought that this book was better than other books on this topic because this book had first hand information from people who were actualy at the crash site and picked up some of the material that was found. Also these people were involved in the cleanup at Roswell. These people were then sworn to secrecy about the event that just took place. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in Science Fiction and wants to learn more about the UFO crash at Roswell. I think that the government is hiding something from us and this is important information that should be open to the public. I would recommend this book because this was the best story about the Roswell crash that I have read

Don't expect too much... 11 Nov 2006
By Skyeye - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Yes, it's the same old worn out thing, Margaret. Don't get too caught up in the military credentials on the cover. The problems: (1)Interviews are incomplete and or woefully lacking in beneficial detail, (2)Gaps in understanding of context and circumstances at the time, (3)Important background facts about the military's organization, units, and people involved are absent, (4)"Witnesses." Who, what, when, where, how, why, and then the big one - So what ? Maybe a good primer for further inquiry.
