Fantastic series. One of the best! The coaches obviously are TV gold with Chael being without doubt the UFC's number 1 talker and Jon Jones being the most controversial champion we have had in a long time he truly divides opinion. The fighters in this series have that hunger and desire that Dana White is always talking about. Watch out for Uriah Hall that's all I will say!

3 of 4 people found the following review helpful By Sam Woodward TOP 500 REVIEWER on 27 Aug. 2013
After the terrible TUF 16 left a lot of fans wondering whether the series had run its course, along comes an amazing series with a very high standard of fights. Including what Dana reckons is "one of the most brutal knockouts I've ever seen in the whole of the fight business, not just on TUF!"

Standout fighters include Uriah Hall, who Chael Sonnen says is better than all of the guys in his weight class currently fighting in the UFC. But it's not just about one guy - there's some serious fighters with good credentials & lots of experience in the house. While only one can win the 6-figure contract, most (if not all) of the contestants fight in the final event because Dana felt they were good enough. And it's great to see Luke Barnatt representing the Brits as Sonnen's first pick.

The way the show has been edited & put together gives it a much different feel from previous series. It looks a lot more slick. And because there's only 14 fighters instead of the usual 16, we learn a lot more about them & what goes on in their heads. A nice new touch was the 2-hour first episode in which they fight their way into their house. This time round, their families are allowed to attend the first fight & are filmed with them at the hotel the night before. This reveals a lot about the guys & what motivates them. And we get to see a lot of Americans crying, which is always fun!

The higher standard of fighters equals more maturity, so while there's still some tension in the house with some overly sensitive guys, there's fewer pranks than normal. And despite their initial animosity, coaches Jon Jones & Chael Sonnen get on surprisingly well.

High quality of fighters and fights
Knock out of the decade
Not much happened out of the ring so if you enjoy the drama more than the sport may not be for you - both Jones and Sonnen conducted themselves well and, in my view, showcased themselves well

Only bad thing is no coach fights in the finale, otherwise awesome.
