5.0 out of 5 stars EA Getting Better 28 May 2007
By Scott A. Mckenzie VINE VOICE
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I love this game, FIFA 07 was a real surprise, it was a lot better than I expected. I was a Pro Evo fan but was very dissapointed PES6. So I bought FIFA and really enjoyed it. I played the demo of UEFA CL 07 & thought it looked good and was intrigued by the new playing card system so thought I'd give it a go.

I am so glad I did. I love it. The playing card system is really good and adds a whole different dimension to footy sims. The gameplay itself is very slick, production is as usual with EA titles excellent.

I highly recommend this game & can't wait to see how FIFA 08 and PES7 compare. Until then back to my " Ultimate Team" !

4.0 out of 5 stars some misconceptions 18 April 2007
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
a lot of the blurb from amazon is wrong. There are no weather conditions. It is either sunny, dusk or night. There is no snow. You cannot go for the treble either as there is no league mode.

That said, the ultimate team mode is fantastic. You will get addicted to buying cards from the credits you earn when you win matches. As described elsewhere its the closest to a Panini Sticker Collection you can get. Scrambling to get a team kit for Watford is a challenge for me at the moment. I bought it two weeks ago and have not put it down.

There are some little gripes but it could be due to me being less than perfect playing it as the computer tends to miss in the first half and score with only ten minutes to go. There are no step overs or tricks. The teams are varied, and im told more than in Fifa 07 but still, why have Celtic in "others" and not have Hearts and Rangers? Juventus is also available even though they have been barred.

Henrik Larsson appears for Man Utd but you will not be able to buy him for you ultimate team for some reason. All in all, a very good game.

1.0 out of 5 stars Fustrating crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10 May 2007
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
I loved Fifa 07 but this game is just a sorry excuse from EA to squeeze more money out of gamers pockets. I cant believe some of the reviews stating that the game is more football like!!!!!! Obviously you have never played for real? Football is a fast paced, high tempo game with slick passing and 1,2's! This game is so slow and non reactive its unbelievable. Why in the last 2 incarnations of this game have they restricted the camera angles to 4 options? You can never see all of your available players!!! And whats with kicking low crosses in and virtually scoring everytime???? With Fifa 07 on the 360 (which played a lot different from all the other consoles) i thought they had taken a huge step in the right direction for the gameplay but in this version they have slowed everything down, passing, shooting, turning, tackling (players actually stand still after they poke a leg out!!!!) and the most annoying trait of the game is the ability for cpu teams to just simply dribble through your entire team evading tackles from about 6 players!!!!!!! how often do you see that at the weekend?? [...].

5.0 out of 5 stars A game for all seasons 9 April 2007
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This game really shows off the possibilities of football games. It is hype realistic and you often feel like you a playing in a real match it has the ability to make your pulse race and your heart skip in the blink of an eye.The commentary really dose react to the game, and dose not report on the action that happened 5 minutes ago. EA have come up with some new ideas to add to this tied format Like the card system which may seam a bit odd and confusing but it enables you to build and shape your own team and learn to love players outside the team you personally support you can build this squad and then show it off to the world on x-box live. This is a most buy for any true football fan and well keep your adrenalin flowing for all of eternity. And many seasons to come this truly is a game for all seasons

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Soccer Title in a Long While (360) 3 May 2007
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
If you are looking for just one sports game for your collection, this would be it.

This game is a big improvement from fifa '07 (which plays like some quick arcade game). It feels a lot more realistic, and the ball physics are just great.

The game has amazing graphics, and is loaded with features.

If EA follows their trend, they won't make a soccer game to top this one for a few years (eg: fifa2002>2003>2004) ..... definitely buy it if you are wondering.

The only reason I can see why people might not like it, is there are no national teams, but that is implied in the title. If you are a true fan of the sport, this game will not disappoint you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly good 15 May 2007
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Having got an Xbox360 for Christmas 2006, I have been looking for a good football game for it since and this is the closest I have found (and, dare I say, the most realistic). I had both Pro Evo and FIFA 07, which were both disappointing on 360, and this is by far the smoothest and most enjoyable game of the three. I am an ardent Pro Evo follower, but the 360 version wasn't as good as the PS2 version (which I already owned) and FIFA was frustrating and clunky.

I have to admit that I was frustrated by this game to begin with, but after a few sessions of persevering I began to enjoy it a lot more. Playing on the World Class skill level makes the game a good challenge, the through passing and crosses are slick and scoring a goal is the major and rare event that it should be.

Having said that, there are some gameplay issues that need to be addressed, such as even the most accurate of sliding tackles is likely to result in a foul and often a in a booking or sending off. I have also been suffering from a very sore trigger finger, because I have found that if you don't constantly sprint, you are not very successful. The formation editor is useful, but is not available in Ultimate Team mode.

The game modes are interesting and make a refreshing change from the normal method of creating a team by buying players. The team chemistry factor and the panini style card game is surprisingly effective and addictive.

I always feel like I want to be playing Pro Evo instead, but I will have to wait for October and hope for an improvement. If you are looking for a half-decent football game on 360 right now, get this.
