Since the discovery that Black Holes could be used as warp gate points to any other point in the Galaxy, Nu Earth has been at the centre of a war between the Norts and the Southers. Genetic Infantry (G.I.) engineered by the Southers, are able to survive in the toxic hell that is Nu Earth without the need for special equipment.

Betrayed by a General within their own high command, the Genetic Infantry battalion were wiped out in the Quartz Zone Massacre and now only one remains. Ignoring orders to report in, his personal mission is to find the traitor. Roaming Nu Earth until his mission is complete, the Norts know him as the "G.I." The Southers know him as "Rogue Trooper."

There are tales of a lone warrior. A man who knows no allegiance but to his own mission and is hell-bent on revenge. He is the ultimate soldier, the last survivor of the massacred Genetic Infantrymen: he is the Rogue Trooper!

  • Intense third-person action on the future war battlefields of Nu Earth
  • Carries the digitised personalities of three fellow G.I.'s preserved on Bio-Chips in his helmet (Helm), gun (Gunnar), and backpack (Bagman)
  • Use the environment to your advantage - conform to terrain, use it as cover

Fun:
I bought this on a whim really knowing nothing about it. From the outset its a fairly fun game, controlling the camera yourself with the wii remote is tricky but once licked its fine and quite useful when your pinned down and trying to spot where enemy fire is coming from.

Certain controls are quite annoying like the grenade deployment, one quick accidental flick of the nunchuck and boom you thrown a grenade when you didnt mean to and ruined your stealth approach, and even when you want to throw a grenade it very hard to make it go where you want.

There are several brilliant features though, my favourite is being able to deploy your bio-chip enhanced gun called gunnar (they thought long and hard about that) as an automated sentry, this allows all sorts of tacticle options from crossfires to diversions.

The graphics are pretty good to, not your standard depressing shoot-em-up brown and grey but we are furnished with some colours of nu-earth, so it is very nice to look at aswell.

So all in all a pretty fun game with some control issues, oh and easy mode really is easy, just wait until you can un-lock massacre mode bwahahahaha

GREAT ACTION GAME 4 Dec 2009
By johnboy
Fun:
The game's storyline & graphics run true to the comic from which it comes, this to me adds to the excitement of playing the game after reading the comic asa kid. 3rd person player. Rogue Trooper can run & shoot unlike some other games. Good choice of weaponary. The only annoying problem I encountered was that sometimes I couldn't stop the Trooper throwing away all his grenades. but besides that I found the game exciting and once the controls were mastered it was fairly easy to use. I enjoyed every minute & wish they'd bring out further stories and by the way the game ended they could.

AWESOME!!!! 2 April 2009
Fun:
This game is fantastic and if you loved Resident Evil 4, this is certainly a game for you.

The controlers are great and in the options menu, you can adjust most of them so that the camera angles, for instance, don't end up everywhere should you decide to click your wrist whilst holding the wiimote.

The graphics are amazing, though the scenery is not as varied and as perfect as in Resident Evil 4. But then, it has more to do with the comic it is based on.

I haven't found any downsides yet. Still on level 4 or 5...

Fun and entertaining...if you can master the controls
Played this for a bit on PC a couple of years ago, passed it on to my brother. Nice to see it re-surface on the Wii, and especially considering the good job done with the port. Read more

Not a bad game as it goes
Graphics and sound are very good for the format
Let down a bit by the ease of the game
Not bad if you fancy a shoot em up for an hour or so
