Sadly this third installment on the successful reel fishing series could have been much inmproved, yes the graphics and sound are great but (i don't know if its just me) the lifespan and gameplay is just not as good as the second...and whats happened to the sea fishing??? theres not as many baits, rods or species to catch. I must admit the sounds and graphics are pretty amazing but i liked the idea the first two games had, using moving images. Why fix something that isn't broken... All in all if you have the other two games then yeah buy it but if you dont then get something better

The best fishing game so far - I love it. Good to play during the close season or on those days when the weather is too bad to go out to the river bank.
If you like fishing you'll love it.
Fun:
Nice visuals for the locations and fish, keep in mind this is a pretty old game now. All the fish look well created and life like, the textures for the skin and shimmer of the scales is very well done and you get a decent variety of fish types unlike in other games.
The sound and music is excellent also, much more fitting for a fishing enviroment and helps create a relaxed and natural atmosphere.
I haven't played any other PS2 fishing games before, but the actual fish catching part seems pretty easy - i guess i was hoping for a much more realistic simulation of fishing on this score, but that is probably expecting too much from a console game! How many players would actualy be happy to sit around for an hour or so with not much happening!
I suspect it was aimed at younger players as it features a little back story and a pet dog, but it is not too cute/child like; the fishing bit is pretty good and would suit any age interested in fishing.
Compared to other fishing games i've played on PC, this tries not to be an arcade/adrenaline type fishing game, which makes it just a nice calming game to play.
