Luckily my 6 year old wanted this game for Christmas and as a past Rayman fan going back to PSone I really couldn't refuse. My son has played my old PSone Rayman's and easily took to this one on WII. It is colourful, fun (so long as you like this,I guess you could call it traditional, style of game) and we are not disappointed. My 2 year old is happy watching it for a little while too instead of Mickey Mouse. We are not hard core gamers and we don't play everyday. This game will keep us entertained for a long time, hopefully as long as my PSone games, which are not far off 20 years old.

Im just get this out the way Rayman Origins is one of the best platformers of 2011, The kind of gameplay we haven't seen since the 90's with games like Earthworm Jim.
With it's music,level design, game play and art style, this game should not be missed.
But yet that will be Origins main problem. Most people will not of heard of this game or are too busy play games such as modern warfaire 3 or this seasons other "must have games". And that is wrong so I plea too you gamers this game is amazing and well worthy of your time.
The story begins with Rayman and his friend relaxing noisly, on the branches of the Snoring tree. The noise awakes the underworld, which starts a big battle wich ends up with are heroes caged and there fairy's kidnapped. this is where are game begins,Its from here that they embark 60+ levels rescuing fairys,lunes and collecting new teeth for the Grim reaper. Just simply charming and funny yet not deep story.
Sadly of course, a game can not live on being charming and funny alone, so Im glad too say origins plays extremely well with its smooth, tight, and responsive controls in which if you mess up its your fault not the game.The Game sound track is a pure joy to listen too, with its beats and catchy tunes that when partnered with the animation will bring a smile too your face, As you play this game as in old Rayman game you slowly unlock new ablitys that include,floating,wall running, shrinking etc. all make the game incresingly more challengeing.
This game I can hardly recommend more for any platform player old and new available on Wii, Xbox 360, PS3.

No Wii Mario this year....never fear for Rayman Origins is here to give you your platforming fix this yuletide.....and it's jaw droppingly brilliant.
Stunning hand drawn graphics, off the wall music and sound effects and challenging without being stupidly hard (stand up last years Donkey Kong). The platforming is the meat of the game but you also get sideways scrolling R-Type shoot-em-up levels and massive end of level boss battles. Throw in a multi player option which turns the already frantic gameplay into a relationship destroying delight, and you've got the best Wii game of the year.
If you were brought up on early 90's platformers such as Earthworm Jim and Coolspot then Rayman Origins will rock your world.
Think Mario on acid and you won't go far wrong. c
