5.0 out of 5 stars excellent content for the tank destroyer fan 25 Nov 2001
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
This is a fine volume coming from concord publications and it is one of a new "armour at war" series. The content of the book is excellent covering the m10 tank destoryer early and late types,sp,17pdr m10 mk2 achilles variant,m18 76mm hellcat tank destroyer,m36 90mm gmc,m3 75mm gmc with a smatering of m6 37mm gmc. There are many quality photographs inside both in action photos and some photos of factory fresh m10 and achilles, the colour plates are especially nice and will surprise some people with how recently world war 2 era tank destroyers were used in combat. There is ample inspiration for the diorama builder contained in these nice photos and colour plates. The book covers tank destroyers in nth africa, the italian campaign, france, battle of the bulge, the pacific and post war use.The photo at the bottom of page 17,must have inspirered a model company maybe. All in all if you are a tank destroyer fan, this volume will prove to be an invaluable reference source.
