These new type Typhoon steamers are an inferior design to the old sort. The base is not as shown in the illustration and has holes so big many vegetables fall through into the saucepan. Neither does the base construction maintain the circular shape well so that the lid ceases to fit easily and steam escapes around the base. I sent them back! Buy the Swift version instead.
