I got a little keyring rubiks cube for Christmas and finally decided I should learn to solve one of these blasted things! I learnt on my little gift but quickly found it was frustrating me with its terrible mechanisms.
So I came looking for a full sized version. The official ones seemed unnecessarily pricey so I searched for an alternative and out of the options I found I settled on this one - pretty arbitrary decision really.
It arrived bang on time and in perfect condition without any of the massive and ridiculous packaging you might see in a shop - just a little cardboard box that snugly fits the cube.
The thing itself is just brilliant - I'm not a speedcuber or anything but the mechanism is beautifully smooth, quick, and easy to move. After several weeks of persistent fiddling it's not fallen apart or 'popped' once. The stickers aren't completely smooth, they're very slightly textured to give you fractionally more grip on it, and they look fairly durable too, none are peeling so far. It's also lighter than I was expecting, again helping with speed of solving.
Aesthetically I'm quite fond of the colour scheme - white plastic instead of black, and a black side replaces the traditional white. Normal black plastic puzzles like my beloved megaminx seem quite drab to me now!
I can solve a keyring cube in about 5 minutes, but with this I can get down to 1min 40s. That's not with any fancy methods, that's the standard cube solving method that you can find all over the web. As I said I'm not a speedcuber so I have no idea if this is a competitive cube, but for someone who just likes solving puzzles for fun I cannot recommend this highly enough. If I lost it I'd replace it with the same without hesitation.
