Tyneside Scottish,

This review is from: Tyneside Scottish: 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd (Service) Battalions of the Northumberland Fusiliers (Pals) (Paperback)
A very specialist book but excellent for anyone with a particular interest in these Battalions and their WW1 history. I had discovered a great uncle who served in the 23rd Battalion and was killed, along with hundreds of his colleagues, on the First Day of the Battle of the Somme. The book filled in useful background and lists the names of all who served. My only disappointment was the quality of the Maps.

I have yet to be disappointed by a book in this series. This is as detailled and packed with photographs as all of the others.
If you have any interest at all in the Great War then this is a must. If you have an interest in the Tyneside Scottish then all you need is here!! There is a very detailled appendix covering gallantry awards, casualties and nominal roles of all 4 battalions. A great read and an excellent reference.
