Product Description

Product Description

Ty is a wild, charismatic, boomerang wielding Tasmanian tiger whose adventures take the player through a brilliantly animated 3-D environment set in the ruggedness and splendour of Australia. His adventurous journey sees him tracking down five Talismans to unlock a portal to another world where his fellow Tasmanian tigers are trapped. Traversing through a wide range of locations including the rainforest, snowy mountains, desert terrain and a barrier reef, he will encounter a large cast of characters--both friends and foes--all of whom are based on real-life animals that are indigenous to the Australian Outback. The game offers many elements customary in to character-based action titles, including Ty's usage of signature boomerangs as well as his chomping abilities, and provides a wide selection of gameplay styles such as combat, riding, puzzles and an array of mini-games.

Manufacturer's Description

Take on the role of Ty, who's always believed that he's the lone remaining Tasmanian Tiger--until, during a chance meeting with a mystical bunyip elder, Ty discovers that his fellow Tasmanian Tigers are still alive but trapped in another world, Dreamtime. In order to unlock and open the portal to Dreamtime, Ty must go on an adventure to find five stolen talismans. So begins his journey through a wide range of locations including the rainforest, snowy mountains, billabongs, the Outback and the Great Barrier Reef.

Ty the Tasmanian Tiger will offer a light-hearted and humorous action adventure experience where players will encounter a bevy of madcap characters based on real-life animals that are indigenous to Australia. For example, the charismatic Ty is inspired by the extinct Tasmanian tiger and his main enemy, the evil Boss Cass is a cassowary with a bad attitude.

A Rather Good Game 13 Dec 2002
This is one game I really do like although it gets a bit too repetitive at times.
The graphics are good, sound - well its good for this game.
Gameplay is excellent.
You get some instructions on what you are looking for or what to do. But it is a game full of puzzles. Again it will mostly be for those who like platform games, but it is still worth buying.
The controls are easyish. Oh and the camera angles are more or less okay but sometimes they aren't too brilliant and you have to work hard to figure out get the camera facing the way you want.
Overall though a good game.

I was immediatly interested to this game with its colourful front cover artwork and the funky characters. However i felt somehow dissapointed. I expect a world like Mario 64 or Zelda but instead got a rather plain world of nothing but colours. I'm not saying its all bad but i think i would say it is one for a younger audience. I would say that if it werent so hared. No really. You get to certain point and just cant continue. It takes an enormous effort to insert the cd into your Xbox and continue the boring journey downunder. So I recomend if you have you heart set on an adventure game buy Blinx or Taz Wanted you wont be dissapointed.

Fun:
Fantastic game! It was the first game I ever bought for the original Xbox and had hours of fun until 1 of the kids stood on it. Loved the game so much that years later we bought it again to play. It brought back so many memories! The game came as described and worked a treat.
