Ty the Tasmanian Tiger will offer a light-hearted and humorous action adventure experience where players will encounter a bevy of madcap characters based on real-life animals that are indigenous to Australia. For example, the charismatic Ty is inspired by the extinct Tasmanian tiger and his main enemy, the evil Boss Cass is a cassowary with a bad attitude.
Firstly the game looks good. Graphics are clear and the frame rate is fast without slow down. The game is no Mario but it is in the same league with games like Spyro.
The control style is simple and easy to use. The camera is also surprisingly good and is not hard to control like some games.
The music and sound effects are all based around the Australian theme which is original and something different to hear in a game. The voice acting is also good apart from one or two characters.
One bad point about this game is that it is too slow. This is because TY is not all that fast at running and the levels are big. Even killing enemies feels like a slow process as they all have animations that they carry out before you finish them off.
Overall the game has a fresh new look and feel that will keep platformer fans happy. This is no Mario, and could be a little slow for some. But generally is quite good that would keep both kids and adults happy.
