I bought 3 of these for my granddaughters, ages 1, 4, 5 and they were very happy with them. It's not particularly 'cuddly' and the tutu is stiff netting, but that didn't seem to bother the girls; they liked the Hello Kitty Ballerina. I liked this larger size (about 12 inches). I didn't buy it to teach them anything or expect them to play with it constantly, but I did buy it to make them happy and that it did!
