Product Description

All eight episodes from the third series of the 1970s LWT sitcom. Dorothy McNab (Elaine Stritch) is a prickly American writer who moves to a flat in London's fashionable Chelsea. When she employs stuffy butler Robert Hiller (Donald Sinden) as a domestic help, Dorothy's new money style soon clashes with Robert's 'old school tie' attitudes. Episodes comprise: 'The Invitation', 'The Freezer', 'The Pet', 'The Take-Over Bid', 'The Virus', 'The Critic', 'The Picnic' and 'The Politicians'.

4.0 out of 5 stars Comedy at its Best 4 May 2010
I now have the complete collection. Through all 4 series the standard remains very high. The acting is a very high quality as are the scripts.
A very good addition to my comedy collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Two's Company 6 Nov 2009
So full of nostalgia for me - being allowed to stay up to watch this comedy - so very funny in that very staged style of the time.

4.0 out of 5 stars What the Butler said...... 7 Oct 2009

This series did not get much of an airing on TV, which was a pity, because it is very cleverly done. Take one caustic-tongued overbearing American authoress and add one frightfully pukka English snobby Butler and put them together under one roof. The result is great comedy, as they spark off against each other, neither wanting to give in to the other. The writing is terrific and the casting of Donald Sinden is pure genius. Elaine Strich is wonderful as the employer, when she gets a chance to give the orders, which is not too often! Highly recommended, except for the terrible singing on the opening titles!
