5.0 out of 5 stars aka What Two Worlds Should Have Been 2 Mar 2011
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Two Worlds II redeems developers Reality Pump brilliantly. The original Two Worlds was buggy but had something about it that made fans continue playing it for several hundred hours, albeit with gritted teeth.

This sequel abolishes all the problems from the original and starts afresh with you, the Hero, in captivity with your sister as 'guests' of Lord Ghandohar who, in the last 5 years, has made the world of Antaloor his domain. A small band of Orcs manages to break the Hero free and the rest of the story involves you exploring the world in an effort to discover Ghandohar's weaknesses and rescue your sister.

Graphically it's top notch, similar style to the original but more flowing, realistic, and open world; loading screens only appear when entering through doors and entering dungeons. No more annoyingly long random loading icons whilst running about in the wild, that's with the game installed to hard drive.

The skill system is as before, points acquired through levelling up and performing certain actions like pickpocketing, lockpicking, stealth kills etc can be distributed amongst attributes and specific skills to tailor your character as you see fit. Skills are acquired via skillbooks/trainers before you can put points into them.

Magic is customisable by using element cards, carrier cards and modifiers (want your fireballs to home in or create an AOE effect? etc), but the stacking system for weapons and armor has been replaced with a more user-friendly 'break down your old weapons/armor into components and use the components to upgrade anything you wish'.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome and much better than the first 19 Aug 2011
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Even with all its flaws, I still enjoyed the 1st game and this is a major leap forward. Its good solid old skool RPG fun. A game that doesn't appeal to the dumbed down masses, and in places is hard as nails. I would recommend to any hardcore RPG fan, as I can see that casual gamers would not put up with the very steep learning curve and mass exploration.

4.0 out of 5 stars Re-vamped... 8 April 2011
By ersegor
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
This game was a shock, many big named mags and critics slated this game and when i played it i was suprised to see that the game has had a nice re-vamp and it was completly open world. the combat system was tricky as you had to think about your attacks before hack and slashing. Apart from that its a good adventure and a must have for RPG fans. The storyline is not bad either and the voice-overs could of had a little more work on it. My overall review is a must have and don't forget to play multiplayer, as it has more storyline chapters.
