This is rather moving, inspiring, heroic - I don't know why. Dylanesque - Knocking on Heaven's Door. I thought 'music to get divorced to', or 'go on the run from the law' or, at least, 'listen carefully to with a few cans in the front room.'
This is the first Wreckless Eric album I've heard since 'Wreckless Eric' (I still have the 10 inch dung coloured one, lost and sandwiched between all those black 12 inch ones). I remember being impressed and taken by that album when I was 15 or so and these new Wreckless Eric and Amy Rigby songs have the same effect. (Though I'd have to say 'Fernando' is a song that should be buried at the bottom of the ocean and left for the fishes to eat.)
On the whole though raw, romantic, acoustic rock. Well worth buying. Good stuff!
