This is how reissues should be done! This 30th Anniversary version of "Two For the Show" not only restores the track "Closet Chronicles" omitted from the original CD version, but adds almost another whole disc of music, recorded at the same time, but omtted, primarily due to the limitations in length of the "double album" format. This additional material is first rank, no lacklustre out takes here, with excellent remastering and major input from band members. Though Kansas have made some great albums since, this perhaps represents the conclusion of their truly classic period, demonstrating how well they could perfrom their best pieces live. I think I paid less than £7 from one of the Amazon Marketplace merchants, a remarkable bargain.

I had not heard the original Two For The Show, however this 2 Disc collection is of excellent sound quality and value for money.
Favourites are a 6 minute Dust In The Wind, Lonely Wind, Point Of No Return, Carry On Wayward Son and Cheyene Anthem.
In reality its all top class Kansas from 1978 concerts with keyboards, guitar and not forgeting a drum solo.
As for the violin playing of Roddy Steinhardt, it rivals anything by Electric Light Orchestra or Curved Air, for example Air Conditioning.
Kansas fans who enjoy their first few albums to 1978 should not be disappointed.

Despite the sad fact that this CD is missing the wonderful track "Closet Chronicles" (which is on the double vinyl version, but left off here due to limited CD space) this is still one of the band's best albums. Actually, it also happens to be one of the best live-albums ever released by any band. If you like symphonic and progressive hard rock, then you need this '78-album in your collection. Few other bands can match the power-sound of KANSAS live; in fact, whoever they may be, they're very likely to be blown clean away !. -The masterful ability of KANSAS to race through their rather complicated songs is second to none. There are many highpoints on this CD, like "Point Of Know Return", "Mysteries & Mayhem", a shortened "Song For America" and the now classic live-version of their hit-ballad "Dust In The Wind". My personal favourite however, is the beautiful semi-ballad "The Wall". -Its studio-version was good, but I'm one of those fans who thinks it's even better here. -Singer Steve Walsh (back when you could still call him that) does an absolutely brilliant job on it. There's a quite raw and real sound to this live-album; no overdubs here, I'm sure. Get it; it kicks !.
